Future Networks 5th FP7 Concertation Meeting [January 2010]

The purpose of the Concertation meeting is to bring together the ongoing FP7 projects funded under the Network of the Future objective and facilitate exchange of results and achievements, and build consensus. The Network of the Future projects are organised into three clusters: Future Internet Technologies (FI Cluster), Radio Access and Spectrum (RAS Cluster) and Converged and Optical Networks (CaON Cluster). In this folder you will find the slides presenting the project at that meeting.

Cognitive Radio – Technology & Regulation Workshop [January 2010]

Cognitive Radio is an enabling technology for efficient and flexible spectrum usage. In the first phase of FP7 the research topic "Cognitive Radio" has been successfully established as a new key research area. With the regulatory scenarios after the World Radio Conference 2007 both new ambitious approaches to cognitive radio as well as proof-of- concept reference implementations are needed to convince regulators and market players. The setup of the workshop will be FP7 projects on Cognitive Radio and Spectrum Sharing presenting their technology concepts and discuss regulatory implications. Several regulators will be present for feedback

Meeting with Xilinx [February 2010]

A presentation on COGEU was done by TCD in a face to face meeting with Xilinx.

Re:Publics workshop in Dublin [February 2010]

A demo on the COGEU concepts and framework was shown in the Re:Publics workshop in Dublin by TCD.

Meeting with Irish Regulator - Comreg [February 2010]

The COGEU project was presented by TCD in a face to face meeting with the Comission for Communications Regulation (Comreg) - the Irish regulator body.

Workshop “Comunicações Wireless na PTIN” [March 2010]

The COGEU project was presented by PTIN in an internal workshop on wireless communications in by the operator in Aveiro, Portugal.

Wireless World Research Forum - 24th Meeting [April 2010]

The objective of this research forum, organised under the aegis of the European Commission and of the ASEAN Secretariat, is to more precisely evaluate the research topics which could usefully be explored through joint projects on this theme, namely in the framework of the European Commission’s FP7 research funding programme. At this WWRF meeting, working group sessions continuing the work of WWRF on radio, network and service perspective complemented with series of plenary sessions. Solution for tackling the humanity issues and future challenges in global agendas for borderless communication will enhance quality of life for sustainable tomorrow.

COGEU was invited to present a global overview of energy saving techniques based on the cooperative and cognitive paradigms. IT represented the COGEU Consortium.

Presentation at the European Parliament [March 2011]

COGEU was presented at the Hearings on the Radio Spectrum Policy Program organized by the
European Parliament S&D Group. The target audience includes  European Parliament Members involved on the Radio Spectrum Program.

Paulo Marques informed the audience about the challenges and possible solutions for an efficient use of TV white spaces in Europe.
